Jingfeng, also known as convulsions, is a common condition in children characterized by limb twitching, upward eye movement, and altered consciousness. There are two types of jingfeng: acute and chronic. Now let's talk about how to use massage to treat jingfeng in children.
Etiology and Pathogenesis of Jingfeng in Children
External factors such as wind, heat, phlegm, fire, fright, and food stagnation are the main causes of jingfeng. Children, due to their pure yang constitution, are more susceptible to external pathogenic factors and experience rapid heat transformation. Excessive heat generates wind, and the interaction between wind and heat consumes body fluids, leading to the formation of phlegm. Phlegm and heat accumulate and obstruct the flow of qi, resulting in jingfeng. In addition, insufficient congenital kidney qi, long-term loss of body fluids due to chronic illness, insufficient yin and blood, and lack of nourishment of tendons and meridians can also cause limb stiffness, arching, and spasms.
