Delicious and Simple Recipes with Taojiao (Peach Gum)

Taojiao, also known as Peach Gum, contains amino acids, vitamins, proteins, and other nutrients. It has the functions of nourishing blood, promoting diuresis, and relieving thirst. It also has the effects of beauty, anti-aging, and anti-aging. So how can we make Taojiao delicious and simple?

Longan Red Date Peach Gum Soup

Ingredients

8 pieces of Taojiao, appropriate amount of yellow rock sugar, appropriate amount of water, 4 red dates, 6 dried longans.

Instructions

1. Soak Taojiao in water for 12-15 hours, changing water twice during the process. I usually soak it before going to bed and cook it after work the next day;

2. After soaking, Taojiao will have black impurities due to its natural secretion on peach trees, so be sure to remove the impurities after soaking;

3. Before cooking, soak red dates and dried longans in hot water;

4. Boil Taojiao in water over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 30-40 minutes. Add yellow rock sugar, red dates, and dried longans, and simmer again before removing from heat;

5. The cooked Taojiao is translucent and amber in color. You can freely add lotus seeds, coix seeds, etc.

Coconut Milk Peach Gum Mango

Ingredients

250ml coconut milk, 30g Taojiao (also known as Peach Oil), 50g mango.

Instructions

1. Wash Taojiao, coconut milk, and mango.

2. Put Taojiao in a container and add more than ten times the amount of water. Soak for about 3 hours.

3. The soaked Taojiao looks dirty and needs to be washed several times to remove impurities.

4. Use a sieve to remove the water from the cleaned Taojiao.

5. Put Taojiao in a double-boiler, directly pour in coconut milk as the water. This will make the soup more flavorful.

6. Close the lid of the pot, connect it to the power source, and select the function key. Stew for about 2 and a half hours.

7. After washing the mango, gently scrape from one end of the skin to the other end with the back of a knife, then peel off the skin and cut the flesh into thin slices along the grain.

8. Divide the mixture into 4 cups and let it cool naturally. If you like it cold, you can put it in the refrigerator after it cools naturally.

Snow Ear Peach Gum

Ingredients

20-30 pieces of Taojiao, 2-3 pieces of snow ear fungus, appropriate amount of rock sugar.

Instructions

1. Soak Taojiao for 2 days, more than 48 hours, until it swells.

2. After soaking, remove impurities and rinse clean.

3. Soak snow ear fungus and tear into small pieces.

4. Then put Taojiao and snow ear fungus into the pot (not recommended to use a clay pot, this pot is now retired~~), add water to cover the ingredients.

5. Simmer over low heat for 1-2 hours, be careful not to burn the bottom.

6. When it is almost cooked, add rock sugar. Adjust the sweetness according to personal preference. You can add various fruits or dried fruits before serving.

Cooling Peach Gum

Ingredients

25g Taojiao, 50g rock sugar.

Instructions

1. Soak Taojiao in water for 24 hours. Change the water twice in the middle;

2. Remove impurities from Taojiao and set aside;

3. Put Taojiao in a non-greased pan and add water. A little more;

4. Boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 10 minutes;

5. Add rock sugar and appropriate amount of lotus root liquid;

6. Let it cool completely and put it in the refrigerator for a few hours for better flavor.

Peach Gum Lily Red Date Soup

Ingredients

10g Taojiao, 20g lily, 4 red dates, rock sugar.

Instructions

1. Prepare the raw materials in advance

2. Soak Taojiao in advance for one day;

3. Because Taojiao contains impurities, remove the impurities after soaking;

4. Put Taojiao and red dates in a clay pot, pour in an appropriate amount of water, boil and then simmer over low heat for 1.5-2 hours;

5. Then add lily and rock sugar. Lily is easy to cook, so it should not be added too early.
