Zusanli is an acupuncture point on the lower leg that is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine for health maintenance. It is often massaged in children to provide various health benefits. Let's take a look at the accurate location and function of Zusanli in children.

Accurate Location of Zusanli in Children

Zusanli is located on the front and outer side of the lower leg, three cun below the knee, one horizontal finger width (middle finger) above the anterior border of the tibia.

Function of Zusanli in Children

Zusanli belongs to the Yangming Stomach Meridian in the foot. It can invigorate the spleen and stomach, regulate the middle energizer, promote meridian circulation, and strengthen the body. It is commonly used for digestive system disorders such as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, as well as lower limb weakness and fatigue.

Clinical Applications of Zusanli in Children

1. Combined with Tui Tian Zhu Gu (Pushing the Heavenly Pillar Bone) to treat vomiting.

2. Combined with Tui Shang Qi Jie Gu (Pushing the Upper Seven Joints Bone) to tonify the large intestine and treat spleen deficiency diarrhea. It is often used in conjunction with spine kneading and abdominal rubbing as a method of health maintenance in children.

Methods for Massaging Zusanli in Children

Use the tip or pad of the thumb to perform rubbing, known as rubbing Zusanli. Apply moderate pressure and rub 50-100 times.
