Zong Jin is the main acupoint used in pediatric massage to treat mouth ulcers. When treating mouth sores in children or tongue ulcers, this acupoint is used. So where exactly is the accurate location of Zong Jin? What are its functions?

Accurate Location of Zong Jin

Zong Jin is located at the midpoint of the transverse lines on the back of the wrist, directly facing the middle finger.

Rubbing this acupoint is called rubbing Zong Jin. Use the thumbnail to pinch Zong Jin, rubbing it 100-300 times each time, and kneading it 5-20 times.

Functions of Zong Jin

Rubbing Zong Jin can clear heat from the heart meridian, regulate the overall body's qi circulation, and have the functions of dispersing stagnation, stopping spasms, clearing heat, and promoting diuresis. It is mainly used to treat mouth ulcers, hot flushes, night crying, convulsions, dysuria with redness, toothache, fever, restlessness, and other conditions.

Special Massage Technique for Zong Jin

Hold the child's four fingers with one hand and rub and press Zong Jin with the thumb of the other hand. This is called rubbing Zong Jin. Operate in a clockwise direction 50-100 times. Long-term massage can alleviate conditions such as convulsions.

Clinical Applications of Zong Jin

In clinical practice, Zong Jin is often combined with Qing Tian He Shui (Clear Sky River Water) and Qing Shui Jing (Clear Water Meridian) to treat conditions such as convulsions, using pinching techniques.

This method also has therapeutic effects on treating oral ulcers. For example, using Qing Tian He Shui as an auxiliary to clear the heart fire can enhance the effectiveness.
