The Waigong point is located on the back of the hand, opposite to the Neigong point, between the second and third metacarpal bones, 0.5 cun (a unit of measurement in traditional Chinese medicine) behind the metacarpophalangeal joint.
Function of the Waigong Point
The Waigong point has the functions of warming yang and dispelling cold, tonifying the spleen and nourishing the stomach, raising yang and lifting descent, and inducing sweating to release the exterior. It is mainly used to treat diseases such as external wind-cold, accumulation of cold in the organs, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, diarrhea, intestinal rumbling, rectal prolapse, enuresis, hernia, cough with excessive phlegm, and dysentery.
Manipulation of the Waigong Point

It is mainly used for all types of cold syndromes, including wind-cold external invasion, stuffy nose, runny nose, as well as cold accumulation in the organs, failure of bones to develop, intestinal rumbling, abdominal pain and diarrhea, hernia, and other conditions.
2. In clinical practice, it is often combined with tonification of the spleen meridian, tonification of the kidney meridian, manipulation of the San Guan points, and kneading of the Dantian to treat conditions such as rectal prolapse and enuresis.
