It is used for infantile convulsions, colds, coughs, infantile bronchopneumonia, sore throat, tonsillitis, heatstroke abdominal pain, dysentery, diarrhea, urinary tract infections, and musculoskeletal pain; externally, it is used to treat abscesses, boils, and snake bites.

Yafucao has a spicy and cool nature, with the effect of clearing heat and detoxification. It is used for external fever, fever that does not subside in febrile diseases, sore throat, and abscesses.
