Xiaguan (Lower Gate)

Location:

It is located in front of the ear in the facial area, in the depression formed by the zygomatic arch and the mandibular notch. The acupoint is closed.

Method:

Sit on the side and locate it in the depression between the zygomatic arch and the mandibular condyle, in front of the incision. There is a hole when the mouth is closed.

Effect:

It can reduce swelling and pain, calm the mind, and clear the meridians of the ears.

Jia Che (Cheek Car)

Location:

It is located in the cheek area, just above the front of the mandibular angle, about one finger's width below the ear, where the muscle bulges during chewing.

Method:

When the upper and lower jaw are clenched, press the depression where the bulging masseter muscle is located.

Effect:

Jia Che acupoint can dispel wind and clear the meridians, relieve swelling, dispel wind and heat, and open and close the meridians.

Fengchi (Wind Pool)

Location:

The Fengchi acupoint is located in the back of the neck, below the occipital bone, level with the Fengfu point, in the depression between the sternocleidomastoid muscle and the upper end of the trapezius muscle. It is an important acupoint of the Gallbladder Meridian of Foot Shaoyang.

Method:

Sit upright or lie prone, and locate it in the depression between the sternocleidomastoid muscle and the upper end of the trapezius muscle, level with the Fengfu point (Governor Vessel).

Effect:

It can invigorate Yang and Qi. Fengchi acupoint has the functions of awakening the brain, dispelling wind and heat, improving vision and hearing, calming the liver and extinguishing wind, dispelling wind and detoxifying, and promoting the smooth flow of the organs and orifices.

Dazhui (Great Vertebra)

Location:

The Dazhui acupoint is located in the middle of the back, in the depression below the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra.

Method:

The Dazhui acupoint is located in the spinal area, in the middle of the back, in the depression below the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra. Tilt your head down or lie prone to locate it.

Effect:

It can invigorate Qi and strengthen Yang. Dazhui acupoint can relieve exterior conditions and activate Yang, nourish deficiency and calm the spirit, clear heat and relieve exterior conditions, and stop convulsions and seizures.

Da Zhu (Great Shu)

Location:

The Da Zhu acupoint is located in the spinal area, below the spinous process of the 1st thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun (Chinese inch) beside the midline.

Method:

Sit upright with the head lowered or lie prone. It is located in the back of the body, below the spinous process of the 1st thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun beside the midline.

Effect:

It provides moist and cool water vapor to the head, clears heat and dryness, strengthens tendons and bones, clears evil heat. Da Zhu acupoint can dispel wind and relieve exterior conditions, cool blood and calm the mind, and extinguish wind and activate collaterals.

Wei Yu (Stomach Yu)

Location:

The Wei Yu acupoint is located on the back, below the spinous process of the 12th thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun beside the midline. It is the back Yu point of the stomach.

Method:

The patient adopts a prone position to facilitate the smooth progress of the corresponding acupoint therapy. Wei Yu acupoint is located on the back of the body, below the spinous process of the twelfth thoracic vertebra, 1.5 cun (two finger widths) beside the midline.

Effect:

The Wei Yu acupoint can harmonize the stomach, disperse dampness, invigorate the spleen, regulate the middle, and descend the rebellious Qi.

Hegu (Union Valley)

Location:

The Hegu acupoint is located on the back of the hand, between the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones, at the midpoint of the radial side of the 2nd metacarpal bone.

Method:

Close the thumb and index finger and locate it at the highest point.

Effect:

The Hegu acupoint can calm and relieve pain, regulate the meridians, promote blood circulation, and clear heat and relieve exterior conditions.

Neiting (Inner Court)

Location:

It is located between the 2nd and 3rd toes, at the end of the toe cleft.

Method:

Sit upright and locate it slightly behind the midpoint (about half a finger's width) of the 2nd and 3rd toes on the dorsum of the foot, press it to feel soreness and swelling.

Effect:

It can clear the stomach and relieve fire, regulate Qi and relieve pain, reduce swelling and relieve pain, and regulate Qi and blood.

Xingjian (Walking Between)

Location:

The Xingjian acupoint is located on the dorsum of the foot, between the 1st and 2nd toes, at the posterior border of the toe cleft.

Method:

Cupping Methods for Tenderness

Fire cupping method: Use a fire or flash fire to attach the cup to Dazhui, Fengchi, Jia Che, and Hegu, or use cupping with suction.

Acupuncture cupping method: First, needle Xiaguan, Dazhui, Wei Yu, Neiting, and Xingjian, leave the needle in place after Qi is obtained, and then use fire cupping or cupping with suction to attach the cup to the acupoints.

Pricking and cupping method: Disinfect Hegu, Jia Che, Wei Yu, and Xiaguan first, then use a triangular needle to prick each acupoint 2-3 times, and then use flash fire to attach the cup.

Walking cupping method: Along the back of the foot, from Dazhu to Wei Yu, move the cup downward, with skin flushing as the criterion.
