The name of Yinbao point refers to the weak Yin dampness and water qi transmitted from Ququan, as well as the lower meridian water that seeps down from Zulie, both of which gather at this point. Precise location: on the inner side of the thigh, 4 inches above the upper end of the femoral condyle, between the adductor muscle and the gastrocnemius muscle.

Anatomical Structure of Yinbao Point

Located between the inner thigh muscle and the sartorius muscle, in the midpoint of the adductor longus muscle, and deep within the adductor brevis muscle. It contains the femoral artery, veins, and superficial branch of the medial circumflex femoral artery. It is also innervated by the anterior cutaneous nerve of the thigh, as well as the superficial and deep branches of the obturator nerve.

It has the functions of regulating liver, promoting qi circulation, regulating menstruation, and clearing and benefiting the lower burner. As the Liver meridian passes through this point, surrounding the genitals and reaching the lower abdomen, this point is effective in treating abdominal pain, lower back pain radiating to the lower abdomen, urinary difficulty, enuresis, and menstrual irregularities caused by liver meridian dampness and heat descending.

Combination Therapy of Yinbao Point for Treating Diseases

For irregular menstruation, it can be combined with Sanyinjiao, Qihai, and Xuehai; for urinary difficulty and enuresis, it can be combined with Zhongji, Sanyinjiao, and Yinlingquan; for abdominal pain, it can be combined with Qihai and Wushu; for lower back pain radiating to the lower abdomen, it can be combined with Ciliao, Daimai, and Weidao.
