It enters the Liver and Gallbladder Meridians and has the effect of cooling blood and stopping bleeding. As stated in "Ben Cao Gang Mu": "Jiejiecao stops bleeding." "Ben Cao Jing Shu" says: "Jiejiecao treats intestinal wind, stops diarrhea, and is effective for women with continuous menstrual bleeding, excessive bleeding, and hemorrhoids. It nourishes the liver and gallbladder and promotes blood circulation because the liver stores blood."
Treating Excessive Menstrual Bleeding
Excessive menstrual bleeding is often caused by Yin deficiency or excessive lactation, which depletes Yin and blood, leading to internal heat and disturbances in the Chong and Ren channels, resulting in prolonged or recurrent menstruation. Jiejiecao can be used to cool blood and stop bleeding. As recorded in "Sheng Hui Fang": "For the treatment of continuous menstrual bleeding, take 3 grams of fried Jiejiecao, decoct in one cup of water for 7 minutes, and take it warm. Take once a day."
