October 21, 2023

In daily life, many middle-aged and elderly people may experience symptoms of insufficient blood supply to the brain, such as dizziness, headache, fatigue, and memory decline. Acupressure is a traditional Chinese medicine treatment method. So where should we massage for insufficient blood supply to the brain?

Massage Fengchi Acupoint

Location: Below the occipital bone on both sides of the back of the neck, on the side of the large tendon depression at the hairline.

Massage method: Place the thumb pads of both hands on the Fengchi acupoints on both sides, and the other four fingers support the head. Gently and gradually press and rub in a clockwise direction for 2 minutes, aiming for a slight soreness and swelling sensation.

Effects: Treats symptoms such as fever, neck pain, strong pain, headache, dizziness, red and swollen eyes, and insufficient blood supply to the brain.

Massage Taiyang Acupoint

Location: On the side of the head, at the intersection between the end of the eyebrow and the outer corner of the eye, about 1 finger-width depression backwards.

Massage method: Sit or lie down, use the ridged surface of the index fingers of both hands to massage the Taiyang acupoints on both sides in a clockwise direction for 2 minutes, aiming for a slight soreness and swelling sensation.

Effects: Treats symptoms such as fever, headache, dizziness, red and swollen eyes, and insufficient blood supply to the brain.

Press and Rub Sishencong Acupoints

Location: On the top of the head, the midpoint of the line connecting the tips of both ears is the Baihui acupoint; 1 inch in front, behind, left, and right of the Baihui acupoint, a total of 4 acupoints.

Massage method: Sit down, use the index and middle fingers of both hands to simultaneously press and rub the Sishencong acupoints, each acupoint for 2 minutes, aiming for a slight soreness and swelling sensation.

Effects: Treats symptoms such as insufficient blood supply to the brain, neurasthenia, insomnia, dizziness, forgetfulness, and deafness.

Pinch and Press Baihui Acupoint

Location: The intersection point between the line connecting the tips of both ears and the midline in front and behind.

Massage method: Sit or lie down, accurately pinch and press the Baihui acupoint with the middle finger or index finger. Repeat 20-30 times gradually increasing pressure.

Effects: Treats symptoms such as hypertension-related headaches, dizziness, palpitations, forgetfulness, hypotension, stroke, epilepsy, hysteria, tinnitus, insomnia, and insufficient blood supply to the brain.

Rub Dazhui Acupoint

Location: Below the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra, about level with the two shoulder peaks (can also be done while sitting upright and looking down, the highest point of the neck is where the bone protrudes).

Massage method: Start with the left hand and then the right hand, place all four fingers together on the neck, and repeatedly rub the Dazhui acupoint at an angle for 30-50 times. If the area feels warm after rubbing, the effect is optimal.

Effects: Treats symptoms such as fever, stiff neck, neck and back pain, cough, asthma, and insufficient blood supply to the brain.

Massage the Brain Reflex Zone on the Feet
