Cough is a common condition of lung disorders. Externally-induced cough

Dry heat injuring the lung: dry cough without sputum or little sticky sputum, or even blood in the sputum, cough with unpleasant sputum, dry nose and throat, chest tightness and pain, headache and fever, dry stool and red urine, red tongue with little fluid, thin white fur, and fine pulse.

Cough with internal injuries

1. Phlegm-dampness obstructing the lung: coughing with profuse, white, foamy phlegm, easy to cough up, heavy and turbid cough, chest fullness or shortness of breath, dullness and abdominal distension, pale tongue, white and greasy coating, moist and smooth pulse. 2. Yin deficiency of lung and kidney: dry cough without or with little sputum, sticky sputum with blood, dry mouth and throat, irritable heat in the five hearts, hot flashes and night sweats, emaciation, red tongue with little moss and thin pulse. 3. Yang deficiency of the spleen and kidney: cough and asthma, especially when moving, thin sputum, pale face, cold form and limbs, or edema of the limbs, unfavorable urination, pale tongue, thin white and greasy moss, sunken and thin pulse. 4. Liver fire burning the lung: coughing with rebellious Qi, paroxysmal, little sputum and sticky, coughing and vomiting is not easy, or even blood in the sputum, pain in the ribs, dry throat, red eyes and bitter mouth, constipation and urinary redness, red tongue, thin yellow moss, and string pulse.

Cough cupping treatment rules

The treatment for external coughs is to promote lung energy and eliminate evil and stop coughing; for internal coughs, it is advisable to regulate the five internal organs and resolve phlegm to stop coughing. The acupuncture points are mainly the acupoints of the Hand Taiyin Lung meridian and the Yu and Yang points of the lung.

Prescription for cough cupping treatment

Main acupoints: Lung Yu, Zhongfu. Supporting points: Fengmen in case of wind-cold syphilis, Gaji in case of wind-heat offense to the lung; Liver Yu and Kidney Yu in case of dry-heat injury to the lung; Foot Sanli and Fenglong in case of phlegm-dampness obstruction to the lung; Fish interval in case of liver-fire burning to the lung; Kidney Yu and Plastered Heart in case of lung-kidney yin deficiency; Spleen Yu, Kidney Yu, Guan Yuan and Foot Sanli in case of spleen-kidney yang deficiency. Treatment: once a day, leave the jar for 10-15 minutes each time, 5 days for a course of treatment.

How to operate cough cupping

1. The patient is placed in the prone and supine positions. 2. Use a 1.5cm caliber fire censer (smaller censer for children). 3. The cupping method is applied to the acupuncture points of Dazhi, Fengmen, Lung Yu, Liver Yu, Kidney Yu, Spleen Yu and Ankylosis, with 5-6 cupping jars on each side until the skin is stagnant. 4. Caution for cough cupping

If the patient is dizzy, pale, nauseous, vomiting, cold limbs, cold sweat, weak pulse, the patient should immediately take the jar and lie down, keep warm, drink warm water or sugar water, and in heavy cases, prick the points of Renzhong, Neiguan, and Sansili, etc. More attention should be paid to prevent discomfort in old and frail patients, children, nervousness, hunger, and first-time patients. 2.
