What are the symptoms of insufficient lung energy?

March 30, 2023
Lung Qi deficiency, also known as lung Qi deficiency, is a symptom of weakness of the lung Qi and reduced functional activity. Most of the symptoms are caused by chronic coughing and injury to the lung; or weakness of the lung qi; or lack of health of the spleen, resulting in deficiency of the lung qi due to the inability of the essence of water and grain to be glorified in the lung, which leads to the malfunction of its purification and external defense functions. What are the symptoms of deficiency of lung qi?

Coughing and shortness of breath, low voice

Weak lung qi can lead to coughing because the lung qi is not in charge of the lung and has no power to purge.

Lack of energy

Lung Qi deficiency can lead to a decrease in the production of Qi, and thus can be characterized by less Qi and laziness, and because daily labor is easy to consume Qi, the slightest exertion can cause shortness of breath and panting.

White face and spontaneous sweating

Qi deficiency is one of the main physiological functions of Qi. A deficiency of Lung Qi reduces the ability to fix sweat, which may lead to spontaneous sweating, and fatigue and a pale complexion are also common symptoms of Qi deficiency.

Decreased resistance

If the lung is deficient in qi, the ability of the qi to defend the body against external evil is also relatively lower.

Dry skin

The lung is in the body and the skin, and its flower is in the hair. Therefore, if the lung is deficient, the lung wants to transport nutrients to the skin, and the function of moistening the skin is relatively lower, so people with deficient lung qi often have dry, wrinkled and itchy skin, especially in autumn and winter when the climate is dry.

Frequent urination and incomplete draining

Chinese medicine believes that the lungs are the upper source of water metabolism in the body, and the lungs are responsible for the movement of water, which together with the kidneys has a synergistic effect on the metabolism of water throughout the body. If the lung is deficient in qi, it often leads to a deficiency of kidney yang, causing the water to run unfavorably, resulting in frequent urination and incomplete draining.
