Unlocking the Key to Mental Health: Understanding, Acceptance, and Healthy Relationships

November 28, 2023

Mental health is actually a continuous psychological state in which individuals have good adaptability, vitality, and the ability to realize their own potential. Mental health cannot be measured by instruments. Therefore, having a standard to evaluate mental health can better grasp a healthy psychological state. For men, who often face more stress and responsibilities, this standard becomes even more necessary.

Experts analyze that the core of the mental health standard is that individuals who respond positively to events or activities that are beneficial to mental health are considered mentally healthy. The field of psychology believes that there is no one who completely meets the standard of mental health, but mental health is always the direction people strive for. As men who support families and society, if you can frequently evaluate your words and actions based on this standard in daily life, your mental health must be good.

Understanding oneself

There is always a person living with us, and that person is ourselves - our self. Confucius once said, "He who knows others is wise, he who knows himself is enlightened." Only by understanding and accepting ourselves can we possibly be happy and healthy. By understanding our strengths, we will have a clear direction for our own development. By understanding our weaknesses, we will make fewer mistakes and avoid doing things beyond our capabilities.

Facing reality

We may not have been born into a wealthy family; our job may not be as satisfying as we hope; our partners may not be as capable and considerate; our children may not be all intelligent and obedient; we may also be experiencing setbacks and hardships... However, we can only make changes if we first face and accept all of this. Only by recognizing and accepting reality, can we make progress and achieve greater success.

Good interpersonal relationships

We live in a society composed of other people, just like fish living in water. Without others, without their help, we cannot survive. According to psychologists, around 80% of life's troubles are related to our interpersonal environment. Nitpicking, getting angry at others easily, infringing on others' interests, and not paying attention to the boundaries of interpersonal relationships will only bring endless troubles to ourselves.
