The Correct Method for Washing Hair with Beer: Nourish and Improve Scalp Health

October 23, 2023

Beer can be used to treat itchy scalp, excessive dandruff, and also to moisturize hair. Many people have tried using beer to wash their hair, but they often don't know the correct method. Below, we will introduce the correct method for washing hair with beer.

Step 1: Prepare the Beer

Prepare the beer. It is best to choose wheat or grain fermented beer, preferably live beer. This type of beer has better nourishing and anti-dandruff effects. Pour the beer into a basin and dilute it with a suitable amount of hot water at a ratio of 1:2. Then, set the diluted beer aside and let the alcohol evaporate slightly in the hot water, as too much alcohol can damage the hair.

Step 2: Clean the Hair

Wash the hair with warm water and a suitable amount of shampoo to remove dirt from the hair and scalp. Then, dry the hair with a towel to facilitate better absorption of nutrients from the beer by the hair and scalp.

Step 3: Washing the Hair with Beer

Washing the hair with beer can be done in two ways.

Pouring Beer over the Hair

Use a container to scoop the diluted beer and pour it evenly over the hair, ensuring that every strand of hair is soaked with beer. At the same time, use your fingertips to massage the scalp. When the beer has dripped away, pour it over the hair again and continue massaging the scalp for about 15 minutes. Repeat this process two to three times.

Applying Beer to the Hair

After washing and drying the hair, evenly apply beer to the hair and massage it into the roots using your fingertips for about 15 minutes.

Step 4: Clean the Hair Again

Drain the diluted beer and wash the hair again to remove the smell of beer. Use conditioner to nourish and maintain the hair, and comb the hair to make it smooth.

Precautions for Washing Hair with Beer

1. The rich foam and nutrients in beer can nourish the scalp and remove dandruff. It is best to use live beer for washing hair. For those with dry hair and heavy dandruff, it is recommended to wash the hair with beer twice a day. Repeat this process every three days for two to three cycles, and the amount of dandruff will significantly decrease.

2. Washing hair with beer can nourish hair cells, improve dandruff problems, and enhance the scalp's antioxidant energy. However, it cannot truly improve the quality of the hair. It only serves as a maintenance method. People who are allergic to alcohol, pregnant women, and children are not suitable for washing their hair with beer.
