Before consuming black fungus, we all know that it needs to be soaked in water. However, those who do not know how to soak may need to start soaking the fungus several hours in advance, while those who know the soaking method may only need a few minutes to easily soak the fungus. So, what is the difference? Let's take a look at the different methods of soaking black fungus.
Microwave soaking method
Time required: about 4 minutes.
Procedure: Place the fungus in a large container, add an appropriate amount of water, cover the container, and heat in the microwave on high for 4 minutes. Remove the fungus after heating.
Hot water soaking method
Time required: about 20 minutes.
Procedure: Prepare hot water and add the dried fungus. It is best to use a container with a lid to hold the fungus. Cover the container and soak for about 20 minutes.
Note: For a faster method, you can put the dried fungus in a food container, pour in warm boiled water to cover the fungus, cover the container, hold the container with both hands, and vigorously shake it for 3 to 5 minutes.
Salt water soaking method
Time required: about 1 hour.
Procedure: Prepare warm boiled water, add an appropriate amount of salt, stir well to make a diluted saltwater solution, and soak the dried fungus in it. This method can effectively remove any dirt or sand on the fungus. Finally, rinse with clean water.
Rice soup soaking method
Time required: about 4 hours.
Procedure: Place the fungus in a bowl and soak it in freshly boiled rice soup. This method can make the fungus plump, soft, and delicious.
Cold water soaking method
Time required: about 6 hours.
Procedure: Simply place the fungus in a bowl, add cold water to completely soak the fungus, and let it sit for about 6 hours before removing the water.
Note: If you want to reduce the soaking time with cold water, you can pour the fungus into a small bottle, add an appropriate amount of water, and shake vigorously with your hand.
