Detecting Fecal Impaction: Signs and Symptoms

October 17, 2023

Many people have heard of the term "fecal impaction", but they may not know exactly how it occurs. Of course, it is not convenient for us to describe what fecal impaction looks like, but we can tell if it exists in your body based on certain manifestations.

Deterioration of the Skin

People with fecal impaction often have deteriorated skin. Stool is the metabolic waste of the body, containing a large amount of toxins. Fecal impaction, which stays in the intestines for several days, can easily cause the repeated absorption of toxins by the intestines. The manifestation of a large amount of toxins is rough skin, acne, and dull complexion, among others.

Abdominal Distension

People with fecal impaction often experience abdominal distension. Fecal impaction accumulates in the abdominal area, and the prolonged accumulation can lead to abdominal distension and a growing belly. Moreover, reducing the belly through exercise does not significantly reduce the protruding belly, which indicates the need to eliminate fecal impaction.

Bad Breath

People with fecal impaction may also have bad breath. Fecal impaction prevents the timely elimination of a large number of metabolic substances from the body, and continuously releases sulfur-containing proteins. Sulfur-containing proteins can produce volatile sulfides, which cause bad breath. In addition, fecal impaction toxins can also damage stomach function, leading to bad breath.

Lower Body Edema

People who easily experience lower body edema may also have a large amount of fecal impaction in their bodies. The longer the stool accumulates in the intestines, the more water it absorbs from the body. Additionally, a large amount of toxins can threaten the health of the body, obstruct the functions of the liver and kidneys, and disrupt normal water metabolism, exacerbating the condition of edema.

Low Spirits

People with fecal impaction are prone to low spirits after a long period of time. Some may even experience slow thinking, insomnia, and vivid dreams. This is because fecal impaction stays in the intestines for a long time and interacts with the bacteria in the intestines. The resulting substances, including harmful substances like methane, can spread and affect the normal central nervous system.
