When beginners cook, they often make mistakes. But don't worry, today I am here to share some tips for cooking stir-fries and help beginners salvage their cooking mistakes.
Mistake 1: Too Salty
When starting to learn cooking, it's easy to add too much salt.
Stir-Fry Too Salty
Add water: Many people think of adding water when they put too much salt, but adding water will dilute the flavor and affect the texture of the dish.
Add sugar: If you add a little bit of sugar, you will be surprised by the result. Remember not to add more than two bottle caps of sugar for one dish, usually one bottle cap is enough.
Overly Salty Soup
Add more ingredients: Instead of adding more meat, add some other quick-cooking vegetables like tofu, tomatoes, or leafy greens.
Mistake 2: Too Spicy
When beginners cook, they may not be familiar with the spiciness of different peppers and end up with overly spicy dishes.
Solutions
First, add more ingredients without chili peppers and mix them with the spicy dish to dilute the spiciness.
Second, add vinegar. Vinegar can dissolve the spiciness and alleviate the heat, but it may leave a slight sour taste.
Third, add sugar. If you don't like the sour taste, add some sugar instead.
Mistake 3: Too Greasy
Adding too much oil when cooking stir-fries can result in greasy and less enjoyable dishes.
Solutions
First, add more vegetables. If the meat dish is too greasy, add some green beans or long beans. If the soup is too greasy, add some leafy greens, potatoes, or radishes.
Second, filter the oil. Before plating the dish, place it on the edge of the pan so that the oil can flow to the bottom. Then take the dish from the top, avoiding pouring the bottom layer of oil onto the dish.
Mistake 4: Undercooked Dish
Many beginners have difficulties with cooking times, resulting in dishes with unevenly cooked ingredients.
Solution
Pick out the undercooked vegetables and return them to the pan. If you cook all the ingredients again, some of them may become overcooked and lose their color and texture. Select the larger pieces of undercooked vegetables and stir-fry them again. To cook them faster, you can cut the larger pieces into smaller ones.
