What is the reason for failing to donate blood

May 13, 2023
Blood donation is an individual's contribution to society and a guarantee of safety for their future accidents. Therefore, many people have the experience of donating blood, but some people are eager to donate blood, and the blood test says that the blood is not qualified and does not allow the full amount of blood to be tested, so here is a look at what is the reason for the failure to donate blood

Aminotransferases are too high

The concentration of transaminases in the human body is directly related to the quality of blood. Some people have transaminases higher than 10 U / L due to poor rest, cold, overexertion, drinking, etc., which exceeds the standard for blood donation, and this is a common phenomenon of unqualified blood donation requirements, generally rest well and next time you can donate blood.

Hepatitis B Infection

People with hepatitis B infection or hepatitis B patients will have a large amount of hepatitis B virus surface antigen or hepatitis C virus antibodies in their blood, which are also included in the blood donation test, therefore, these carriers cannot donate blood.

AIDS

AIDS patients have a large amount of HIV in their bodies, and HIV antibodies are also found in their blood. AIDS is highly contagious and is transmitted through blood, therefore, they cannot donate blood.

Anemia

There are also some people who are anemic and have insufficient hematocrit. These patients are prone to blood fainting and shock, and therefore cannot donate blood. It is recommended that these people first replenish themselves with nutrients and recover their health before considering blood donation.

Excessive fat

Some people eat foods containing high fat, such as fatty meat, eggs, doughnuts and peanuts, the night before and the day of blood donation, and the fat content in the blood is too high, which is fatty blood. The transfusion of fatty blood can lead to adverse reactions such as allergy, fever and fat embolism. Therefore, such people are also not suitable for blood donation, and it is better to eat a light diet and keep the blood clean before donating.
