How to prevent pollen allergies These tips should be remembered

May 3, 2023
Spring flowers are in full bloom, which is a beautiful scene, but many people have allergies to pollen, so how to prevent pollen allergies?

Stay away from pollen as an allergen

Outdoor pollen concentration cannot be artificially controlled, so you should go out less during the pollen dispersal season, especially in dry and windy weather and in mountainous areas or grasslands with many flowers and plants. It is advisable to go out in the morning or evening, usually around noon is the time when pollen concentration is the highest. Wear long-sleeved clothes and protective devices such as masks, glasses and masks when you go out, or you can apply pollen blockers to your nose to reduce pollen inhalation or exposure. When going out for a spring trip, it is best to bring some anti-allergy medication, etc.

Indoor pollen blocking

Close windows, doors and car windows during pollen season, use air conditioners with filtering functions, install anti-pollen window screens or hang wet curtains to keep the air in your living room moist, and use high-efficiency air filters to reduce the number of indoor pollen.

Clean in time

Wash your face, rinse your nasal cavity and other pollen-sticky parts, bathe and change your clothes to reduce pollen particles on your body when you get home from a trip. Nasal rinsing is generally not recommended for younger children, as they are not cooperative and prone to injury at an early age.

Drying clothes indoors

During the pollen dispersal season, people who are allergic to pollen should avoid drying their clothes and sheets outdoors and try to dry their clothes in a dryer to reduce the chance of pollen exposure.

Apply a pollen barrier in the nose

Pollen blockers can reduce or block nasal contact with various pollens, dust, dust mites and animal hair and other allergens, thus eliminating or reducing allergy symptoms. Pollen blockers are made of highly refined long-chain hydrocarbons and do not contain any drugs, steroids or preservatives. They have no side effects and can be used by children and adults for a long time.

Specific immunotherapy

Pollen-specific immunotherapy is performed selectively at the end of the pollen season to reduce the symptoms of pollen allergy in the coming year.
