How epilepsy is caused

April 7, 2023
Epilepsy is what we call sheep epilepsy. Many people know that people with sheep epilepsy are like normal people when they are not having seizures, but once they have a seizure, they have convulsions, foam at the mouth, and some may faint and go into shock. The following is an answer to the question of how epilepsy is actually caused.

Family history

Epilepsy runs in families, and this is an inherent factor in epilepsy. People with a family history of epilepsy and their first-degree relatives generally have high chromosomal fragility points, and the inheritance of epilepsy is not affected by gender, age, or the use of antiepileptic drugs.

Craniofacial injury

There are many causes of brain injury, such as congenital or genetic brain diseases, cranial trauma, or more serious brain tumors, cranial surgery, intracranial infections, and cerebrovascular disease, which can cause seizures due to brain nerve damage.

Brain tissue hypoxia

Prolonged or severe lack of oxygen to the brain can cause seizures. The common types of hypoxia include localized hypoxia caused by cerebrovascular disease, arterial hypoxia caused by thin air, drugs, and hypoxia caused by poisoning or severe anemia that affects the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood.

Sleep deprivation

Sleep deprivation can easily lead to the development of epilepsy. Idiopathic tonic clonic seizures and myoclonic seizures often occur in the morning after waking up, and seizures in infants and children often occur during sleep. If there is frequent lack of sleep it can lead to seizures.

Climate change

Changes in climate can also be a cause of seizures. Especially when the climate changes rapidly, it is easy for the body to become maladjusted and cause seizures. This is especially true when sudden cold or heat invades the patient's body, which can easily cause the body to become maladjusted and lead to seizures.

Other factors

In addition to climate change and lack of sleep, other factors that can cause seizures include overexertion, poor diet, and other transient metabolic disorders and allergic reactions that can lead to seizures. In particular, people who like to eat spicy and stimulating food, smoke and drink are prone to seizures triggered by the stimulation of alcohol and nicotine.
