Removing Eyelash Glue: Techniques and Precautions

October 27, 2023

Many people now confuse eyelash planting with eyelash grafting, especially beauty salons that deceive beauty lovers by calling eyelash grafting eyelash planting. In fact, eyelash planting does not require the use of glue, and it needs to be performed in a regular hospital for hair follicle transplantation. If glue is used, it is mostly eyelash grafting. So how do you remove the glue used for eyelash grafting?

Special glue remover

The false eyelashes from grafting can be removed using a special glue remover.

Method: First, use a gentle makeup remover to clean the eyelashes and eye liner. Then, use the special glue remover to gently wipe around the upper eyelid, close one eye, and use your fingertips to gently wipe around the outer contour of the eye. At this point, use a cotton swab to go over the eyeliner a few times, and then gently pinch the base of the false eyelashes with your index finger and thumb to remove them. Finally, wipe off any remaining glue with the special glue remover and clean the eyes.

Olive oil for removal

Olive oil can be used to remove the glue from false eyelashes.

Method: After removing the makeup from the eyes, you can use the steam from boiling water to steam the eyes or the entire face. This helps the glue from the false eyelashes to loosen. Then, soak a cotton ball in olive oil and wipe the base of the eyelashes. Repeat several times until the eyelashes fall off, and then rinse with warm water.

Professional assistance for removal

If false eyelashes have been grafted and you want to remove them quickly, you can directly seek assistance from the doctor who performed the grafting. The glue used for eyelash grafting is highly adhesive, and if removed improperly, it can easily cause the loss of natural eyelashes. Professional doctors can quickly and effectively remove stubborn glue.

Precautions for removing eyelash glue

Eyelash glue is generally very sticky, so when removing it, be gentle and patient. It is recommended to repeat the removal process multiple times and avoid using excessive force to pull or tug, as this can easily cause eyelid sagging and may also pull out natural eyelashes.
