March 14, 2024
Believe it or not, acupuncture is a well-known form of treatment. Simply put, acupuncture involves inserting needles into specific points on the body, and of course, the angle of insertion is important. Acupuncture can be used to treat various ailments, including diarrhea, dizziness, and chronic gastritis. Now, let's delve into the principles and practices of acupuncture. Although acupuncture is not as popular as acupuncture needles, it has its own unique advantages. Acupuncture can activate the meridians, disperse stagnation, and effectively treat conditions such as diarrhea, dysmenorrhea, gastritis, and dizziness. However, it is important to note that the treatment methods and principles of acupuncture vary greatly depending on the specific condition.
Acupuncture Method 1 for Diarrhea Acupoint selection: Special acupoint for diarrhea (located directly below the highest point of the lateral malleolus, at the junction of red and white flesh). Acupuncture method: Use moxibustion with mild heat, each session lasting 10-15 minutes, 2-3 times a day until the condition is cured. Acupuncture Method 2 for Diarrhea Acupoint selection: Zhongwan, Shenque, Tianshu, Zusanli acupoints. Additional acupoints: For patients whose diarrhea does not improve, add the three major acupoints: Piyu, Stomach Yu, and Large Intestine Yu. If there is still no effect, try three other acupoints: Guanyuan, Qihai, and Mingmen. Acupuncture method: Use mild moxibustion with moxa stick, 5 minutes per acupoint; or use moxa cone, 3-5 cones per acupoint. Acupuncture Method 3 for Diarrhea Acupoint selection: Tianshu, Zhongwan, Qihai, Shangjuxu acupoints. Additional acupoints: For patients with severe cold and dampness, add Shenque and Guanyuan acupoints. For patients with heavy dampness, add Yinlingquan acupoint; for patients with nausea and vomiting, add Neiguan acupoint; for patients with severe urgency and tenesmus, add Zhonglüyu acupoint. Acupuncture method: For patients with cold and dampness type, use two acupuncture methods for Shenque acupoint: salt partition moxibustion and ginger partition moxibustion. For other acupoints, use mild moxibustion with moxa stick for 5 minutes per session, once a day. Acupuncture Method 4 for Diarrhea Acupoint selection: Zusanli, Yinbai, Tianshu, Zhongwan, Shenque acupoints. Acupuncture method: Use salt partition moxibustion for Shenque acupoint, 5-7 cones per session; for other acupoints, use direct moxibustion with moxa cone without leaving scars. Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to the acupoint, place a moxa cone the size of a grain of wheat on it, ignite it, and replace it when the patient feels unbearable heat and pain. Moxibustion for each acupoint lasts 5-7 cones, once a day, and 10 sessions constitute a complete course of treatment.
