The Potential Side Effects of Lip Augmentation

October 23, 2023

Many women pursue plump and sensual lips, so they often opt for lip augmentation in the hopes of achieving the same allure as Angelina Jolie. However, before considering lip augmentation, it is important to understand the potential side effects.

Lip Infection

During the lip augmentation procedure, there may not be large wounds, but there can be minor ones. If these wounds are not properly cared for, they can potentially lead to bacterial infection.

If there is severe pain and a rise in body temperature, it is possible that an infection has occurred and immediate medical treatment is necessary.

Pigmentation

Shallow injections or lack of sun protection can lead to pigmentation issues. Applying whitening masks 4-6 times after a month may help reduce or eliminate pigmentation.

Localized Uneven Skin Texture

After lip augmentation, it is possible to experience localized unevenness in the skin texture. This usually resolves on its own within approximately six months, but if it does not improve, medical treatment may be needed.

Lumps on the Lips

If poor-quality or counterfeit products are used during lip augmentation, or if the injection technique is incorrect, lumps can form on the lips. In such cases, it is necessary to seek medical advice to determine the cause and appropriate treatment.

Rebound Effect

Lip augmentation results are not permanent, and experiencing a rebound effect is quite normal. This usually occurs around three months after the procedure, and in order to maintain plump lips, another lip augmentation may be required.

Impaired Lip Function

If lip augmentation is unsuccessful, it not only means that you might not achieve the desired sensual lips, but it can also lead to physical difficulties in performing normal eating actions.
