How to regulate low immunity

April 15, 2023
Immunity is a process by which the body identifies itself, identifies, destroys and eliminates antigenic foreign substances in order to maintain the stability and physiological balance of the body, and is the body's ability to resist pathogenic microorganisms. Obviously, low immunity is susceptible to attack and infection by pathogenic bacteria, so how can low immunity be regulated?

Dietary supplements

As the saying goes, "Food is the key to health", so it is a good idea to strengthen the immune system through dietary regulation. So what foods can help improve immunity?

Fruits

Common fruits that can enhance immunity include grapefruit, watermelon, lemon, kiwi, cherry, papaya, apricot, grape, banana, Sydney and apple. Why can these fruits strengthen the immune system? Take watermelon as an example, watermelon contains many nutrients such as citrulline, alanine, glutamic acid, arginine, malic acid, adenine, glucose, sucrose, vitamin C, B and r-carotene, which is a traditional remedy to clear heat and quench thirst. The content of vitamin A in watermelon is also very considerable, and eating more watermelon can ingest natural vitamin A.

Grains

Low immunity can also be improved by supplementing grains and cereals, such as oats, barley, coix seeds, black rice and beans. Take oats for example, the reason why grains can also regulate low immunity is because oats contain vitamin E, vitamin B, protein and soluble fiber. Middle-aged and elderly people consuming oats is especially helpful because regular consumption of oats can reduce the level of bad cholesterol LDL in the body and can increase the level of cholesterol HDL which is beneficial to the body.

Vegetables

It is common knowledge among many people that eating more vegetables can alleviate low immunity. Vegetables that can enhance immunity include garlic, tomatoes, asparagus, eggplant, carrots, radishes, cabbage, bitter gourd, kelp, spirulina, shiitake mushrooms, and fungus. Vegetables are generally rich in vitamin C, which is one of the essential nutrients to enhance human immunity. In the case of bitter melon, it contains amino acids such as bitter gourd glycosides, glutamic acid, alanine, proline, citrulline and pectin; in addition, the seeds of bitter melon contain vitamin A, vitamin B, bitter melonin and protein.

Nuts

Nuts such as peanuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pistachios, pine nuts, etc. are all natural nutrients, including the highest content of vitamin E and folic acid. The antioxidant effect of vitamin E in folic acid are the body's immune system to maintain normal function of the necessary nutrients; in addition, the phytosterols contained in nuts can reduce the body's absorption of cholesterol, thereby reducing cholesterol to normal levels.

Tea

Low immunity is suitable for black tea, green tea, oolong tea, because the theanine contained in these teas can strengthen the body's immune system to resist the invasion of bacteria, viruses, and fungi. In addition to theanine, the catechins and flavonoid glycosides in tea can also enhance vascular elasticity, lower blood lipids and dissolve fat, prevent the accumulation of cholesterol and neutral fat in the blood and liver, prevent vascular sclerosis, shrink microvessels and eliminate the role of free radicals in the body. Which kind of tea is suitable for you?

Dairy products

Supplementing dairy products such as milk, cheese and yogurt is also a good choice to eliminate immune deficiency. A cup of hot milk before bedtime can relieve tension, eliminate abdominal pain, calm sleep and calm the mind, replenish calcium and prevent osteoporosis. Drinking yogurt regularly also regulates the intestinal environment, which is good for health.

Medicinal tonic

Many herbal medicines come from common ingredients in life. Common herbs that help improve immunity include honeysuckle, chrysanthemum, ginseng, American ginseng, astragalus, wolfberry, ganoderma lucidum, and bupleurum. The consumption of Chinese herbs should be under the guidance of a professional physician. Take honeysuckle as an example, from the modern medical explanation, honeysuckle can promote the transformation of lymphocytes, enhance the phagocytosis of white blood cells, promote the dissipation of inflammatory cells, reduce the in vitro secretion function of neutrophils, and regulate the activity of lymphocytes, thus enhancing immunity.

Exercise

Exercise is one of the most effective ways to enhance immunity. Exercises that can improve immunity and are suitable for ordinary people include walking, aerobics, forest bathing, fishing, tai chi and simple household chores. The changes in the city have expanded the green area and many parks do not have the conditions for forest bathing, but at least you can take a bath in the woods. Bathing in the woods with the fragrance of flowers, plants and earth, and smelling the scent of fir and cypress trees can lower blood pressure, stabilize emotions and protect the immune system, and these effects come mainly from the ingredients woad and lemon terpene in wood chips. In addition, on a sunny day, traveling through the light and shadow of the woods allows you to breathe fresh air freely, and sufficient oxygen contributes to human health.

Improve your lifestyle

To keep your body's immune system in top condition, you need to start by improving your lifestyle. Regular work and rest without late nights, regular physical exercise, a balanced diet, and less smoking and drinking are all necessary to prevent a low immune system.

Emotional regulation

Modern immunology research shows that emotional disorders, especially negative emotional experiences caused by stressful stimuli, can reduce the body's immune function and increase an individual's susceptibility to disease, so learning to regulate emotions is of great importance to maintain good immune function.

Emotions and immunity

Emotions have a significant impact on the central nervous system, which regulates immune cells through the release of conductive substances from nerve cells. Emotions are influenced by stress, and the body releases hormones under stress, which have the effect of inhibiting immune cell function, which means that psychological stress inhibits the body's immunity, and chronic psychological stress can have a sustained suppressive effect on the immune system, resulting in immune deficiency.

Emotional Exercise

Emotions, like the body, need and should be exercised. Look at problems in two ways, don't take the bull by the horns and go down dead ends; develop a wide range of hobbies, such as raising succulents, painting, singing and dancing; don't lose your temper for no reason, and when it comes to things, act within your means, be self-aware, trust others and ask for help while also thinking of others.
