①Boiling 120 grams of Chinese yam every morning can treat uterine prolapse, nocturnal emission, spleen deficiency diarrhea, and excessive thirst.
②Take an appropriate amount of Chinese yam, half raw and half stir-fried, grind them into fine powder. Mix the powder with rice soup and take 6-10 grams each time, twice a day. This is suitable for symptoms such as bloating in the abdomen and loss of appetite due to deficiency of the heart and spleen.
③Take 20 grams of Chinese yam and 30 grams of polished rice, grind them into powder and cook into a porridge-like consistency. This has the effect of tonifying the intestines and stopping diarrhea, suitable for spleen deficiency diarrhea.
④Take 15 grams of Chinese yam and 6 grams of coptis chinensis (or 15 grams of pollen), decoct and take orally. This can assist in the treatment of diabetes with symptoms of thirst, frequent urination, and excessive hunger.
Precautions for consuming Chinese yam:
①After slicing Chinese yam, it needs to be soaked in saltwater immediately to prevent oxidation and blackening.
②Freshly cut Chinese yam produces a large amount of mucilage, which is very slippery and easy to hurt hands. It can be washed with water and a little vinegar to reduce the mucilage.
③After peeling Chinese yam, hands should be washed several times immediately to prevent skin allergies.
④Good Chinese yam should have intact skin, white and smooth cross-section, abundant mucilage, and less water content. Peeling the Chinese yam can also avoid abnormal tastes such as numbness or irritation.
