We apply makeup to make ourselves look more beautiful and attractive, but those black dots on our faces are not desired. Especially on our noses, foreheads, and other areas, these blackheads always seem to appear. There are actually many methods to remove them, and it depends on you to choose which one to use after comparing their advantages and disadvantages.
Blackhead Extraction
Blackhead extraction is a physical method that uses adhesive force to remove blackheads from pores. The most common method is to use various nose strips. With a little trick, you can remove more blackheads.
Method: After taking a bath or using a warm towel to cleanse your face, soften the keratin and open the pores. When the skin is still not dry, apply a moist nose strip (the nose strip should not be too wet). Wait until the nose strip is completely dry and starts to harden, then peel it off from bottom to top. You will find that many blackheads have been removed. After using it, use a toner with a tightening effect to shrink the pores, or use cold water to shrink the pores.
Advantages: Directly and effectively remove blackheads without causing damage.
Disadvantages: It stretches the skin and can cause the pores to loosen and enlarge. If not tightened in time, blackheads will reappear faster and pores will become larger.
Deep Cleansing Masks
Deep cleansing masks generally have the function of removing blackheads because they can remove the old keratin layer, allowing the oil particles clogged in the pores to be discharged more smoothly. Some deep cleansing masks also contain ingredients like kaolin clay and activated charcoal, which have adsorption functions and can absorb blackheads from the surface of the skin instead of hiding deep in the pores.
Advantages: It does not stimulate the pores and causes no damage.
Disadvantages: The effect of removing blackheads at once is not very obvious, and it takes time to see results. It has little effect on severe large blackheads.
Dissolving Blackheads
Using cleansing oil combined with massage can soften blackheads and make them easier to be removed. In addition, cleansing oil with an emulsifier can be used to better remove blackheads after washing.
Advantages: The effect of removing blackheads is more obvious, and it is basically non-damaging.
Disadvantages: It takes a longer time, and the skin may become dry after use.
Squeezing Blackheads
The process of squeezing blackheads is very satisfying when each hard oil particle pops out, but squeezing them improperly can cause inflammation or leave red marks.
Method: Generally, a blackhead extractor needle is used to pierce the skin before squeezing blackheads. In order to make the oil particles come out easily, you can also use the method of exfoliating first and then applying flower water to make the pores unblocked and the keratin soft, so that blackheads can be easily squeezed out.
Advantages: Thoroughly removes blackheads.
Disadvantages: The needle and squeezing can easily cause inflammation.
Hot Compress + Massage to Remove Blackheads
Method: First, apply a hot towel to fully open the pores on the nose, then drop an appropriate amount of blackhead removal liquid on a cotton pad and apply it on the nose for 15 minutes. After removing the cotton pad, you will see that it has absorbed many blackheads and whiteheads. After that, thorough cleansing is still necessary. For oily skin, a foaming cleanser works best. Next, gently pat the nose area with chilled toner and apply a pore-shrinking essence.
Advantages: It effectively removes blackheads and can also moisturize the skin and shrink the pores. It is the most scientific method to remove blackheads.
