How to protect children's vision is a concern for many parents. In addition to correcting children's poor eye habits, massage techniques can also be used to help regulate blood circulation around the eyes, protect the eyes, and improve eye disorders. Common Massage Points for Protecting Children's Vision

Rubbing Jingming

Jingming is located on the face, above the inner corner of the eye. Rubbing Jingming acupoint with the fingertips of the index finger can accelerate blood circulation.

Massage Zuanzhu

Zuanzhu is located on the face, in the depression between the eyebrows. When massaging, use the thumbs of both hands to massage from the inner corner of the eyebrows to the outer corner.

Pressing Tongziliao

Tongziliao is located on the face, next to the outer corner of the eye. When massaging, use the thumbs of both hands to press Tongziliao acupoint until a slight soreness is felt.

Rubbing Chengqi

Rubbing Guangming

Guangming is located on the outer side of the calf, 5 inches above the outer ankle, on the anterior border of the fibula. When massaging, use the thumb to rub Guangming acupoint in a clockwise direction.

Jingming cools and clears, brightens the eyes and calms the mind; Zuanzhu clears heat, brightens the eyes, dispels wind and opens collaterals; Tongziliao clears turbidity and dampness, nourishes the liver and brightens the eyes; Chengqi brightens the eyes, stabilizes the mind, and activates the meridians; Sibai dispels wind, brightens the eyes, and opens the meridians; Guangming soothes the liver, brightens the eyes, and activates the collaterals. Common massage methods: rubbing Jingming, Zuanzhu, Tianying (a point 0.3 inches below Zuanzhu with obvious sensitivity), Taiyang, Sibai, Yifeng, pressing Fengchi, rubbing Tianzhu bone, dividing and pushing Kangong, massaging the eye sockets.

Massage prescription: myopia management focuses on near vision, harmonizing qi and blood, relieving eye muscle fatigue, and increasing vision. This method can be used not only for treatment but also for prevention and health care. It has obvious effects on treating pseudomyopia and improving vision in axial myopia.

Massage for Strabismus Management in Children

Treatment principles: dispel wind, unblock meridians, tonify the liver and kidneys.

Common massage methods: one-finger Zen technique on the face, with a focus on Taiyang, Sibai, Tongziliao, Jingming, and Zuanzhu acupoints, about 10 minutes; pressing Fengchi, Zusanli, Ganyu, Shenshu acupoints, with a moderate soreness as the degree; holding Fengchi and Hegu acupoints, about 1 minute per acupoint.

Massage precautions: massage once a day, with 20 times as one course of treatment. If the manual therapy is not effective, consider other treatments such as wearing corrective glasses. If strabismus is caused by intracranial lesions, local orbital lesions, or systemic diseases, massage can only be used as an adjuvant therapy.
