The direction of Guasha leg slimming
1. Follow the direction of the meridians (such as the liver meridian on the inner thigh) and brush downwards, which helps with the downward flow of qi and blood. This is suitable for women with excessive cold in the lower abdomen. Brushing in the opposite direction will cause the qi and blood to rise, which increases internal heat and is therefore not recommended.
2. Brush the legs twice in the same direction without going back and forth. Brushing in the opposite direction can easily disrupt the flow of qi and blood in the meridians, which has no benefits for leg slimming.
The correct steps for Guasha leg slimming
1. Clean the legs first. After wiping them lightly with a hot towel, apply the essential oil and keep the legs in a natural bent position.
2. Use the meridian brush to comb the meridians on the legs from top to bottom. Start with the outer side of the thighs and calves, then brush the inner sides of both. Maintain a moderate speed and intensity, ensuring that both the inner and outer sides of the thighs and calves are brushed. Generally, brushing for 20 minutes is sufficient.
3. Brush the outer side of the thighs and calves 30 times in the direction of the gallbladder meridian, from top to bottom.
4. Brush the inner side of the thighs and calves 30 times in the same direction, from top to bottom.
How long does it take to see the effect of Guasha leg slimming?
Guasha leg slimming should be done for no more than half an hour to one hour at a time, allowing the skin to heat up sufficiently. Usually, after one month of Guasha leg slimming, the leg circumference will decrease, and after 2-3 months, the leg circumference can be reduced by 3-6cm. However, if it is not done consistently and only occasionally, the results will not be significant.
Precautions for Guasha leg slimming
1. The appearance of purple spots should not be a cause for concern. It indicates minor health issues and will disappear on its own after a few days. Some people may not develop these spots.
2. It is not advisable to do Guasha on areas where the marks from the previous session have not faded. Wait until the marks have faded before doing it again.
