What acupuncture points for insomnia

Yongquan point

The Yongquan point is a key point on the Shaoyin Kidney meridian. It is located at the intersection of the front and middle third of the midline of the foot, when the toes are flexed, the front depression of the sole. Moxibustion at the Yongquan point is mainly useful for treating insomnia, and it is also effective for patients with hypertension.

Hanging Bell Point

Insomnia is often related to the pillow, and the Hanging Bell point is the best point for treating the pillow. Because it is the main marrow, which is connected to the bone, it is a good regulator of the pillow caused by the weakness and imbalance of blood and Qi. After the pillow, just roll, knead, pinch, push and other techniques to the hanging bell point powerful stimulation, only ten minutes, you can feel the neck become relaxed, like a relief.

Shenmen point

Method: The Shen Men point should be taken with the patient in a sitting, supine palm position, the Shen Men point is located at the wrist, the palmar side of the wrist joint, the radial recess of the ulnar carpal flexor tendon. Efficacy: The main symptoms of the Shen Men point are chest pain, constipation, agitation, palpitations, insomnia, loss of appetite, and other diseases. Heart Point

Method: The Heart Yu point is located on the back of the body, under the spinous process of the fifth thoracic vertebra, two fingers wide (or about 1.5 inches) to the left and right. Efficacy: The main symptoms of Heart Yu point are: heart meridian and circulatory system diseases, chest pain, palpitations, motion sickness, headache, nausea and vomiting, neurosis, etc.

An-sleep point

Method: The An-sleep point is located at the middle of the line between the cataract point and the Fengchi point. When taking the point, first find the protruding part of the skull behind the ear, and touch the depression between the skull and the muscles under the bone. Effects: Calms the mind and sleep.

Two moxibustion methods for fast treatment of insomnia

Gentle moxibustion

Acupuncture points: Xin Yu, Neiguan, Shen Men, and Annmian. Operation method: The patient is placed in a suitable position. The practitioner stands on the patient's side, lights one end of the moxa stick and aligns it with the acupuncture point to be moxibutated, 2~3 cm away from the skin, and smokes it to make the patient feel warm and painless locally. Each point is moxibustion 15-20 minutes, until the patient feels comfortable, local skin flushing for the degree of moxibustion 1 ~ 2 times a day.

Moxibustion with ginger

Acupuncture points: Heart Yu, Spleen Yu, Diaphragm, Shen Men, and Foot San Li. Operation method: cut fresh ginger into slices about 0.3 cm thick, make several holes with a needle, place them on the moxibustion points, and apply moxibustion with a large or medium moxa pillar lit in the center of the slices. If the patient has burning pain, the ginger can be lifted off the skin for a few moments, then put it down and moxibustion is performed again. Generally, each point is moxibustion 5~7 strong each time, 1-2 times a day.
