Is it good to wash clothes with dish soap?

It is not recommended to wash clothes with dish soap.

If there are localized oil stains on clothes, dish soap can be used to remove them. Dish soap is effective in cleaning localized stains. However, dish soap should not be used as a substitute for professional laundry detergent to wash clothes, as it can be harmful to the skin. It is recommended not to wash clothes with dish soap to avoid chemical contamination of the skin.

The hazards of washing clothes with dish soap

Washing clothes with dish soap is harmful to the skin and may also increase the risk of cancer.

Dish soap is made from petroleum extracts. No matter what claims the dish soap manufacturers make, it does not change this fact. The essence of dish soap in removing stubborn stains is its surfactants. When dish soap is used as laundry detergent, the surfactants in dish soap replace the stains. However, this poses a problem as surfactants can be harmful to our skin. Prolonged exposure to these surfactants can weaken our body's immune system and increase the risk of cancer.

What is good for removing oil stains from clothes

Toothpaste for oil stains

Wet the clothes with oil stains, then squeeze a little toothpaste on the stained area. After the toothpaste penetrates into the fabric, rub the clothes gently. The oil stains will slowly dissolve. Rinse with clean water afterwards.

Alcohol for oil stains

The ethanol in alcohol can evaporate and dissolve many substances. If there are oil stains on the clothes, apply alcohol to the stained area and gently wipe it. After the alcohol completely penetrates into the fabric, it can be cleaned.

Salt for oil stains

Dissolve salt in water, then apply the saltwater to the oil-stained area of the clothes. After the saltwater slowly penetrates into the fabric, gently rub it and rinse with clean water.

Tips

There are professional laundry detergents for washing clothes, as well as specialized detergents for stubborn stains. If the laundry detergent cannot remove the stains, dish soap can be used to clean them. However, remember not to wash clothes directly with dish soap.
