What's wrong with ear heat

September 6, 2023
It's often said that when your ears get hot it's when someone reads you. Some people's ears get hot after exercise, and some people's ears get hot when they are nervous. So what exactly is going on with hot ears? Here's what you need to know.

After strenuous exercise

When we have just done strenuous exercise, our heartbeat speeds up significantly, which supplies more blood to our limbs, but our limbs don't need that much blood after exercise, and it takes a process for the heartbeat to slow down, so the extra blood rushes to our head and causes our ears to heat up.

When shy and arguing with others

When we have a difficult exam, when we argue with others, or when we are shy, our ears usually feel hot and feverish. This is actually a normal phenomenon because the brain cortex is highly excited, and the heartbeat is accelerated, resulting in the expansion of blood vessels in the skin and increased blood flow.

In cold weather

When we come from a cold environment to a warm room, the blood vessels in our ears expand and blood flow increases due to the rise in room temperature, making our ears red and hot.

Food causes

The essence of ear heating is the expansion of blood vessels under the skin, so if we want to avoid this we should eat less food that tends to cause the expansion of blood vessels in the ears. For example, spicy foods, colas and caffeine-rich foods, etc. Reducing intake can reduce ear fever.

After a long time on the phone

The cell phone has radiation, similar to the principle of microwave ovens, and prolonged phone calls can cause molecular vibrations inside the organism, thus generating heat. Therefore, it is best not to make long phone calls to ease the burden on your ears.

Possible middle ear infection

If your ears are hot for a long time and you feel stuffy and blocked in your ears, it is likely that you have otitis media and it is recommended that you seek professional help.
