Natural Remedies for Colds: Ginger Syrup, Onion Mushroom Soup, and More

Option one: Ginger Syrup
60g rock sugar, 6g fresh ginger.
Put the rock sugar in a pot with water and heat until dissolved. Add the washed and sliced ginger and bring to a boil. Take twice daily for 3 days. Suitable for colds caused by wind and cold, and also helps with bloating, painful periods, and coldness.


Option two: Ginger Onion Jujube Soup
6g fresh ginger, 3 stalks of green onions, 4 jujubes.
Wash the ginger, jujubes, and green onions separately. Slice the ginger, cut the green onions into strips, and smash the jujubes. Put them in water and bring to a boil. Take once daily for 2-3 days. Suitable for colds caused by deficiency-cold.



Option three: Coriander Soup
30g coriander, 15g rock sugar, 30g rice.
Wash the rice and put it in a pot with water. Boil for 10 minutes, then take half a bowl of rice soup. Add the washed and cut coriander and rock sugar to the pot. Cook until the rock sugar melts. Take once daily for 2-3 days. Suitable for colds caused by wind and cold.


Option four: Onion Mushroom Milk Soup
1 stalk of green onion, 1 mushroom, 30-50ml breast milk.
Cut the green onion into strips. Soak the mushroom in a little water until soft, then wash off the dirt and tear into strips. Put the green onion strips, mushroom strips, and mushroom soaking water into the breast milk. Heat in a double boiler for 10 minutes, then remove the green onion and mushroom. Take 2-3 times daily for 3 days. Suitable for newborns with colds, nasal congestion, and runny nose.



Option five: Mustard and Licorice Decoction
Equal amounts of mustard, licorice, windproof, angelica, and borneol.
Wash the mustard and cut into small pieces. Soak the licorice, windproof, angelica, and borneol in water for 20 minutes, then simmer. Take once daily for 2 days. This formula is suitable for preventing influenza.


Option six: Mung Bean Tea
30g mung beans, 9g ephedra.
Wash the mung beans and ephedra with water. Put them in a pot with water and bring to a boil. Remove any foam and simmer until the beans are cooked. Drink the liquid. Take once daily for 2-3 days. Suitable for colds and influenza.
