【Plant Morphology of Huajin Yaozi】
Huajin Yaozi is a perennial herb, 5-14 centimeters tall. It has a fibrous root system. The stem is upright or oblique, hairless, and has infertile branches.
The basal leaves and rhizomes usually wither during the flowering period. The stem leaves are ovate or broadly ovate, 7-12 millimeters long and 6-10 millimeters wide, with 4-6 small blunt teeth on each side. The length of the leaf stalk is approximately equal to the length of the leaf blade.
The inflorescence is slightly compacted, and the flowers are bell-shaped. The sepals are erect, with 4 sepals, ovate or broadly circular, 1-1.5 millimeters long and 1-2 millimeters wide, yellow-green in color. It lacks petals, and the stamens are usually 8, shorter than the sepals.
The fruit is a 2-lobed capsule. The seeds are broadly elliptical, 0.6-0.7 millimeters long, reddish-brown, smooth, and have tiny nipple-like projections.
