【Medicinal Uses of Didin Herb】
1. Treating boils and abscesses: Mix Didin Herb, scallion white, and raw honey and take orally.
2. Treating acute infectious hepatitis: Take 1 liang (approximately 50 grams) of Bitter Didin, decoct in water and take orally.
3. Treating enteritis or dysentery: Take 1 liang (approximately 50 grams) of Bitter Didin, 1 liang (approximately 50 grams) of Red Vine, 2 liang (approximately 100 grams) of Ant Plant, and 3 qian (approximately 9 grams) of Baikal Skullcap Root, decoct and take orally.
4. Treating suppurative infections: ① Take 1/2 liang (approximately 25 grams) each of Bitter Didin, Dandelion, and Half Lotus, decoct in water and take orally; apply the medicine residue externally.
② Take 2 liang (approximately 100 grams) each of fresh Didin Herb and fresh Wild Chrysanthemum Flower, pound and extract the juice, divide into two doses for oral administration; apply the medicine residue externally.
③ Take equal amounts of fresh Didin Herb and fresh Hibiscus Flower, add a little salt, pound into paste and apply to the affected area, at the same time take 2-3 liang (approximately 100-150 grams) of Didin Herb, decoct in water and take orally.
【Differences between Didin Herb and Purple Didin】
1. Different varieties
Didin Herb contains various species, including Purple Didin. In addition to this variety, there is also White Didin. It is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Papaveraceae family, with low soil requirements and strong adaptability.
Purple Didin is one of them and has many other names, such as Light Petal Corydalis, Wild Corydalis, and Light Calyx Corydalis. It is related to the former, so it looks similar, but there are still differences.
2. Different plant shapes
Didin Herb has a taproot and its plants are relatively tall, about 10-50 centimeters tall. Branching starts from the base of the stem, which has edges.
Purple Didin does not have an above-ground stem. The overall height of the plant is about 4-14 centimeters, and it can reach over 20 centimeters during the fruiting period. The underground rhizomes are relatively short and appear vertically, with a pale brown appearance.
3. Different flowers
Didin Herb has a lot of flowers, ranging in color from pink to light purple. The petals are concave on the outside and have shallow rounded teeth along the edges.
