The leaves are alternate, with petioles on the lower leaves and no petioles on the upper leaves. The leaf blades are elliptic or oblong, gradually tapering at the apex, and wedge-shaped at the base. The margins have fine serrations, the upper surface is green, and the lower surface is light green, with sparse hairs or almost hairless.
