Clinical manifestations of Qi deficiency and sagging type of stomach prolapse:
Distention and fullness in the epigastric region, dull pain, weight in limbs, fatigue and a preference for lying down, loss of appetite, pale complexion and thin muscles, pale tongue with white coating, weak and slow pulse.
【Red ginseng yam stomach】
Formula: 1 piece of red ginseng (20-30 grams), 300 grams of Chinese yam, 100 grams of lean ham, 1 pig stomach, appropriate amount of yellow wine.
Method: Slice the red ginseng, Chinese yam, and lean ham, and soak them in yellow wine. After washing the pig stomach, make a small incision and stuff the red ginseng, Chinese yam, and lean ham into the stomach. Tie it with a string, place it in a clay pot, add enough water to cover it, bring to a boil over medium heat, add 1 spoonful of yellow wine, and simmer over low heat for 4 hours until the stomach is tender. Then open the stomach, pour out the red ginseng, Chinese yam, and lean ham, dry them in the sun or with a drying machine, grind them into powder and store in a tightly closed bottle.
Efficacy: Tonify the spleen and nourish the stomach.
Usage: Take 3 grams twice a day, swallow with hot water after meals, or take with stomach soup for 3 months as a course of treatment.
【Beef stomach nourishing soup】
Formula: 1000 grams of beef stomach, 2 fresh lotus leaves.
Method: Take a clay pot for stewing soup, place fresh lotus leaves at the bottom of the pot, then wash the beef stomach and put it in, add enough water to cover it. Boil over high heat, then simmer over medium heat for half an hour. Take out the beef stomach, cut it into strips or small pieces. Pour it back into the clay pot, add 3 tablespoons of yellow wine, a little fennel, and cinnamon, simmer over low heat for 2 hours, then add 1 tablespoon of fine salt, a little ginger, and pepper, continue to simmer for 2-3 hours until the beef stomach is tender.
Efficacy: Tonify the middle and boost qi, strengthen the spleen and aid digestion.
Usage: Eat beef stomach with meals, dip it in soy sauce and vinegar, drink beef stomach soup twice a day, one small bowl each time.
【Lotus leaf and lotus seed soup】
Formula: 4 fresh lotus leaf stems, 60 grams of lotus seeds.
Method: Take the fresh lotus leaf stems (the part that connects the lotus stem in the center of the lotus leaf), wash them, cut one lotus stem into 4 small pieces, set aside. Wash the lotus seeds, soak them in boiling water for 1 hour, peel and remove the core. Pour the lotus leaf stems and lotus seed meat into a small pot, add enough cold water, simmer over low heat for 2 hours, add 1 tablespoon of sugar, simmer for a while, then remove from heat.
Efficacy: Ascend and clear, tonify the spleen, strengthen the stomach and aid digestion.
Usage: Eat as a snack.
【Astragalus and jujube stomach tonic】
Formula: 60 grams of honey-roasted astragalus, 10 grams of tangerine peel, 1000 grams of black jujube, appropriate amount of lard, sugar, and yellow wine.
Method: Put the black jujube, astragalus, and tangerine peel in a large porcelain bowl, add 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of cooked lard, and 2 tablespoons of yellow wine, mix well. Without covering the bowl, steam over high heat for 3 hours, then steam once a day on top of a rice cooker until finished.
Efficacy: Tonify qi and strengthen the stomach.
Usage: Eat 5 black jujubes after lunch and dinner, drink half a spoonful of astragalus and jujube juice. 3 months is a course of treatment.
