Plant Morphology of Frost Red
Frost Red
Shrubs that shed leaves, 1-4 meters high. The small branches have fine hairs. Leaves are alternate; leaf blades are elliptic or ovate-lanceolate, 2-6 cm long, with sharp tips, fine serrations on the edges, and hairs on both sides. Flowers are clustered in several clusters in the leaf axils; pale purple or white. The drupe is spherical and turns bright red when ripe. Flowering period is in June.
It grows in shrubs on mountain slopes or is cultivated in gardens. It is distributed in Jiangxi, Fujian and other places.
