【Treatment of Eczema with Baijiangcao】
Baijiangcao has the effects of clearing heat and detoxification, promoting the drainage of abscesses, and activating blood circulation to dispel blood stasis. It can treat abscesses and swelling, whether they have ruptured or not: take 4 liang of fresh Baijiangcao and 4 liang of sweet potato wine. Steep them in boiling water and drink the decoction. Crush the residue and mix it with winter honey for topical application on the affected area.
Usage: Take 3-5 qian of the roots, decoct in water and take orally. Also use an appropriate amount of the whole herb to decoct water for washing.
【Identification of Baijiangcao】
The rhizome of Baijiangcao is densely covered with rusty yellow narrow lanceolate scales. The leaf stalk is chestnut brown and has soft hairs up to the feather stalk.
The leaf blade is thick and papery, measuring 5-15cm long and 1.5-4cm wide. It is pinnately compound with one main lobe, and the base of the lobe is deeply heart-shaped. Sometimes there are 1-2 small earlobes, and both sides are covered with brown long hairs. The lateral veins are often bifurcated, and the small veins are separate, or occasionally connected into long narrow mesh near the leaf edge.
The sporangia are borne along the lateral veins and covered with soft hairs. It has a slight aroma and a bitter taste.
