【Morphology of Wu Zhaofeng】
Wu Zhaofeng is a climbing shrub. The stem is densely covered with downward-pointing bristles and brown long hairs. The leaves are alternate, slightly round, 8-13 cm long, 6.5-13 cm wide, palmately 5-lobed. The lobes are broadly lanceolate, acute at the apex, heart-shaped at the base, with irregular serrations along the margin. The upper surface is smooth and hairless, while the lower surface is densely covered with hairs along the veins. The petiole is 6-10 cm long, densely covered with fine prickles and long hairs. The stipules are deeply pinnately lobed.
Several flowers are clustered in the leaf axils, sessile; the sepals are 5-lobed, lanceolate; the outer surface is hairy; the petals are 5, pale yellow; there are numerous stamens, separate; and there are numerous pistils. The aggregate fruit is spherical and red. Flowering period is from May to June.
