Chinese herbal medicine, also known as Purple Bead Leaf or Hemostatic Herb, is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine for stopping bleeding. It can be used both externally and internally to alleviate various bleeding symptoms and also has the ability to disperse blood stasis and reduce swelling.
Purple Bead Leaf can be used either fresh or dried. Both methods use the same material and there is no significant difference in their medicinal properties.
Purple Bead Leaf is usually harvested in the summer and autumn. However, the dosage of Purple Bead Leaf needs to be carefully controlled, ranging from 15g to 30g.
If the dosage is too small, the medicinal effects may not be fully realized, while excessive dosage may lead to side effects.
1. Treatment for gastrointestinal bleeding
Grind dried Purple Bead Leaf into powder, mix with cold boiled water and take it every four hours. Then, use 2g of Purple Bead Leaf powder, decoct in water, and drink it as tea regularly. This treatment can effectively treat gastrointestinal bleeding and alleviate various symptoms caused by gastrointestinal diseases.
2. Treatment for hemoptysis
Mix 5-7g of dried Purple Bead Leaf powder with egg white, and take it every four hours. Then, use 2g of dried Purple Bead Leaf powder, decoct in water, and drink it as tea regularly. Scientific use of this treatment can keep hemoptysis away from our body.
3. Treatment for nosebleed
Take 2g of dried Purple Bead Leaf powder with egg white, and also use the powder to plug the nose with sterilized cotton.
4. Treatment for bleeding wounds
Wash fresh Purple Bead Leaf with cold boiled water, grind it into paste and apply it on the wound. Alternatively, use dried Purple Bead Leaf powder to apply on the wound, and wrap it with sterilized gauze. This remedy is widely used in Fujian Province, China, and has proven to be very effective.
