  The Wonderful Uses of Diding Herb

  Diding herb works better when soaked with Honeysuckle or Dandelion. The combination of these herbs enhances the medicinal effects. In addition to clearing heat and detoxifying, it can also relieve gum and throat swelling and pain.

  Methods of Planting Diding Herb

  1. Diding herb is propagated by seeds, with about 3 to 4 kilograms of seeds per acre. It is usually planted with grasses of the Poaceae family.

  During Xiaoshu and Dashu, after crops like corn of the Poaceae family are ridged, the ground between rows is shallowly hoed, and the seeds are evenly spread between rows. A big hoe is used to push the seeds in and bury them, followed by watering to keep the soil moist. The seedlings will emerge in about 30 days.

  2. After the Diding seedlings grow, they should be watered frequently and well managed. When the main crops mature and are harvested in late autumn, care should be taken not to bury the Diding seedlings.

  Before the first freeze, cold water should be irrigated and fertilizers should be applied. After the frost thaws in the following spring, the manure blocks should be crushed and leveled.

  From Qingming to Guyu, when the new leaves have not covered the ground, urea should be applied at a rate of 10-15 kilograms per acre, followed by watering. Stop watering after the beginning of summer to prevent stem and leaf rot and reduce yield.

  3. Around the time of Jingzhe, when the Diding seedlings turn green, there are often black caterpillars of the Lepidoptera order that feed on the tender shoots, causing significant damage;

  They can be killed by spraying with Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) at a concentration of 500-1000 times, or by applying 2500 grams of Bt powder mixed with 15-25 kilograms of fine soil per acre to the field for soil poisoning.
