The saying goes, "Every medicine has its poison," and traditional Chinese medicine is no exception. Let's learn about the common emergency treatment methods for Snow Mountain Artemisia.

Snow Mountain Artemisia

The common emergency treatment methods for Snow Mountain Artemisia include the following:

1. Induce vomiting artificially.

2. Wash the stomach with a 1:5000 solution of potassium permanganate.

3. Take 50ml of 50% sodium sulfate orally as a laxative.

4. For severe vomiting or diarrhea, no laxatives are needed after stomach washing. Instead, take 10g of magnesium oxide, 10g of tannic acid, and 20g of medicinal charcoal mixed with warm water to form a paste for oral administration. If there is still constipation, a 2% saline enema can be used for laxative.

5. Use a high dose of atropine to counteract the stimulation of the vagus nerve. The specific dosage depends on the degree of poisoning. For mild cases, administer subcutaneously or intramuscularly. For severe cases, administer intravenously. The usual dosage is 0.5-1mg every 2-4 hours. The dosage can be increased and the administration interval shortened for severely poisoned patients.

6. Administer 5% or 10% glucose solution to promote the excretion of toxins.

7. If there is shock, arrhythmia, convulsions, metabolic acidosis, etc., symptomatic treatment should be given.

8. Blood purification therapy can be performed for some critically ill patients to completely remove toxins from the body.

9. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be performed for patients in the recovery period.
