Bamboo root seven, also known as false bamboo, has rhizomes that are clustered and about 1-1.5 cm thick. The stem is 25-50 cm tall. The leaves are papery, ovate, elliptic, or rectangular-lanceolate, 4-9 (-15) cm long and 2.3-4.5 cm wide;
The apex is gradually pointed, the base is blunt, wide-wedge-shaped, or slightly heart-shaped, with a petiole, and both sides are hairless. The flowers, 1-2 in number, are born in the leaf axils, white with a purple tinge, slightly drooping; the flower stalk is 7-14 mm long; the corolla is bell-shaped, 15-22 mm long;
The corolla tube is about 2/5 the length of the corolla, the mouth is not constricted, and the lobes are nearly rectangular; the corolla lobes are membranous, alternate with the corolla lobes, and ovate-lanceolate, about 5 mm long;
