Yasong is the whole herb of Sedum lineare, a member of the Crassulaceae family. It is often used to treat burns and scalds due to its heat-clearing and detoxifying effects. Let's learn more about Yasong below.
The fruits of Sedum lineare are oblong, brown, smooth, and about 0.4mm long. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is from August to September.
Landscape use: Yasong can be used for flower beds, flower arrangements, as ground cover for slopes, or to embellish rock gardens.
Cultivation and propagation: Yasong can be propagated by sowing seeds, dividing plants, or by stem cuttings. Both spring and autumn are suitable for plant division, and stem cuttings can be done during the growing season.
Choose well-drained sandy loam or sunny and dry areas for planting. After the first frost, cut off the aboveground parts, water with freezing water, and the plants can safely overwinter. Yasong is distributed in Jilin, Liaoning, and other parts of China.
After planting Yasong, don't think there's nothing to do. On the contrary, boring days are coming. It is necessary to spray water three or more times a day, and use water with rooting agent for spraying every three to five days. Remember not to spray water at noon.
After that, insecticide should be applied every ten to fifteen days. Generally, four or five insecticide applications are enough. During the maintenance period, many small buds will appear on Yasong, but don't be happy, they are just water sprouts. It is a good sign only if these buds can grow into leaves.
Similarly, new buds will also appear on the top of the leaves, but this can only be considered a good sign, not that the plant is alive. If not managed well, it may still wither.
After Yasong has survived, do not immediately cover it with a shed, as it is very easy for Yasong to die from sudden exposure to sunlight. It is important to let Yasong gradually adapt to sunlight, so open the shed little by little.
