Methods of using cao kou

Ingredients: sauerkraut, beef brisket soup, tofu, shiitake mushrooms, cao kou
Instructions:

Medicinal value of cao kou
1. It is used to treat stomach cold, abdominal pain, vomiting, pale lips and tongue, clear saliva, and loss of appetite (similar to certain types of acute gastritis and peptic ulcers).
It can be used with 6g of cao kou, along with 6g each of wu zhu yu, yan hu suo, gao liang jiang, and xiang fu. Decoct them in water and take orally. It has the functions of dispelling cold, relieving pain, and stopping vomiting.
2. It is used to treat chronic diarrhea caused by deficiency and cold (chronic dysentery and chronic colitis).
Use stewed cao kou, along with stewed mu xiang and stewed he zi, in a formula like cao dou kou tang.
Dosage: 1-2g, it is better to take as pills or powders.
Prescription example: Cao Dou Kou Tang: stewed cao kou 3g, stewed mu xiang 3g, stewed he zi 2.4g, tiao qin 9g, huo tan mu 9g. Decoct them in water and take orally.
