Dizziness is often manifested as a feeling of vertigo, imbalance, and unsteadiness. When patients open their eyes, they feel as if they are spinning or swaying, similar to being in a moving vehicle. This condition is more common in elderly people.
During an episode, patients cannot stand and may experience symptoms of increased vagal nerve tension, such as nausea, vomiting, tinnitus, sweating, bradycardia, and hypotension. Taking medication regularly can cause significant harm to the patient's gastrointestinal system, so dietary changes can be used to improve dizziness. Traditional Chinese medicine provides five methods to alleviate dizziness.
Method 1: Treating dizziness with eggs and brown sugar
Heat an appropriate amount of bean oil in a pan, add 2 eggs and 30 grams of brown sugar (mix with a little water), and fry them in the pan. Take it on an empty stomach for 10 consecutive days. To consolidate the therapeutic effect, it can also be taken for a few more days.
Method 2: Treating dizziness with herbal congee
Cook 25 grams of herbal fence, 1 unshelled egg, and 50 grams of rice into a porridge. Add an appropriate amount of oil, salt, and MSG for seasoning. After cooking, remove the herbal fence residue and eggshell. Consume the herbal congee and egg twice a day for 3 consecutive days, and there will be a significant improvement in dizziness and headache symptoms. This herbal congee is not only delicious and sweet, but also has an auxiliary hypotensive effect.
Method 3: Treating dizziness with duck eggs and red beans
Mix 1 duck egg with 20 red beans, steam them until cooked, and take it on an empty stomach in the morning. Take it once a day for 7 consecutive days for a special effect.
Method 4: Treating dizziness with herbal soup
Take 25 grams of summer cypress, 15 grams of white peony root, 25 grams of eucommia bark, and 10 grams of Scutellaria baicalensis.
Method: First, decoct the first 3 herbs in 3 teacups of water for 30 minutes. Take it off the heat, let it sit for a while, then add Scutellaria baicalensis and decoct for another 5 minutes. Take it once in the morning and evening. After taking it, you will feel light-headed and clear-eyed, without any other side effects.
Method 5: Treating dizziness with chrysanthemum
Chrysanthemum has the functions of reducing blood pressure, improving vision, relieving dizziness, headaches, tinnitus, and dizziness, and promoting diuresis. People with hypertension can use chrysanthemum pillows to help those who have dizziness and restlessness at night due to excessive liver yang. Wild chrysanthemum can be added to bitter orange leaves, mung bean husks, or reed grass, dried in the sun, cooled, and then sewn into a pillowcase.
