Fulingpi, Chinese medicine name. It is the outer skin of the fungus Poria cocos in the Polyporaceae family. It is distributed in Jilin, Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Henan, Hubei, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan. Fulingpi is mainly used to promote diuresis and reduce swelling. It is used for water retention with edema and difficult urination.

The fungus is spherical, ovoid, elliptical, or irregular in shape, ranging from 10-30cm in length or even longer, with varying weights, generally weighing 500-5000g. The outer skin is thick and wrinkled, dark brown in color, soft when fresh, and hard when dried.
The internal part is white or light pink in color, in granular form. The fruiting body grows on the surface of the fungus, flat and spread out, with a thickness of 3-8cm, white and fleshy, turning light brown when old or dried. The tubes are densely arranged, with a thin wall, round or polygonal openings, measuring 0.5-1.5cm in diameter, and the edges are split into tooth-like shapes.
The spores are rectangular to nearly cylindrical in shape, smooth, with a slightly oblique tip, measuring (7.5-9)μm × (3-3.5)μm in size.
