1. Fertilization: Fertilization can be divided into base fertilizer and topdressing. If the pond where ling stems are planted has thick silt and fertile soil, usually no base fertilizer is needed. If the silt is shallow and the soil is poor, then 3000-4000 kg of pond mud should be applied per 667 square meters as base fertilizer.

Topdressing can mainly use organic manure, but it should be fermented before applying to the pond. The amount of fertilizer should be adjusted according to the richness of the water. Generally, apply more fertilizer in lean water and less or no fertilizer in rich water.

The transparency of the pond water should be maintained at 25-30 centimeters. During the initial flowering period of the plants, spray 1%-2% concentration of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer on the leaves, once every 7 days, for a total of 2-3 times.

2. Adjusting water quality and pH value: For ponds mainly fertilized with organic manure, new water should be replenished regularly, 1-2 times per month, with 20-30 centimeters of new water added each time. At the same time, dissolve quicklime in water and sprinkle it over the entire pond, 10 kilograms of quicklime per 667 square meters, 1-2 times per month.

【Harvesting of Ling Stems】

Ling stems are generally harvested in September, with a harvest every 7 days, and the harvest is completed in late October. During the harvesting, select large and fully mature ling fruits for seed preservation according to the planting plan for the next year.

Storage method: Place the ling seeds in a bamboo basket, hang the bamboo basket on a water-drenched bamboo frame, with the seeds not exposed to the water surface and not touching the muddy bottom, to prevent freezing and rotting.
