【Preparation Method】
Soak the plant in water for 7 days, changing the water twice a day. Then, slice the plant after it becomes soft. Steam the sliced plant in a steamer for 2-3 hours, and then air dry it. Alternatively, stir-fry the plant with hot lard until fully cooked, or wrap it in wet paper and heat it next to charcoal fire until fully cooked. Remove the paper, soak it in child's urine for a day and night, and then clean and air dry it.
【Cultivation Techniques】
Xueshan Yizhihao commonly grows on shady slopes in alpine grasslands at altitudes of 3000-4000m. It thrives in fertile and loose black humus soil.
It can be propagated by seeds or root sprouts. For seed propagation, sow the seeds in early May, scatter them, and keep the soil moist. The seedlings can be transplanted after one year. For root sprout propagation, cut off the upper third of the root and bury the root sprouts in the soil with a spacing of 21cm × 21cm before November or before snowfall, at a depth of 4-6cm.
During the growth period, weeds should be removed regularly. To promote plant growth, organic fertilizer or wood ash can be applied once a year.
