【Morphology of Da Wei Yao】
Leaves: The leaves of Da Wei Yao are opposite or nearly opposite, with wrinkled leaf blades that are about 5-10cm long, ovate or triangular-ovate in shape.
Flowers: The calyx is green, and the corolla is light blue-purple or white. There are 5 stamens, and the inflorescence is terminal, forming a unidirectional spike-like inflorescence. Small flowers grow densely on the upper side of the flower axis, gradually opening from the bottom to the top. The flowering period is from May to September.
The terminal inflorescence is arranged in a double-forked scorpion-tail shape, with the entire inflorescence reaching 15cm in length. The tip curls up like a caterpillar, which is why it is also called Ear Hook Grass.
Fruit: The fruit is a capsule formed by the fusion of two small drupes.

【Clinical Applications of Da Wei Yao】
Treatment of furuncles: Take 60g of dried Da Wei Yao, crush it, and add 1000ml of water. Simmer over low heat until the volume is reduced to 500ml.
Take 20ml each time, 3 times a day after meals.
Reduce the dosage for children. In the treatment of 213 cases, 37 cases were cured within 1-3 days of taking the medicine, 96 cases within 4-5 days, 52 cases within 6-10 days, and 28 cases took more than 10 days to recover.
